Square Enix Offers PS5 Prologue Demo for The Adventures of Elliot

Square Enix has released a free Prologue Demo of The Adventures of Elliot for PlayStation 5. The demo download is listed at just under 6GB and allows players to carry progress into the full release on June 18.

Progress that can transfer includes unlocked items, experience and any applicable story checkpoints. The Prologue Demo presents an early slice of the game’s opening content so players can test combat, visuals and pacing before the retail release.

The title is developed by the team that created Octopath Traveler and uses an HD-2D visual approach that pairs pixel-art characters with modern lighting and camera effects. Unlike those earlier projects, The Adventures of Elliot uses real-time hack-and-slash combat rather than turn-based battles.

Square Enix emphasized the carryover feature so demo players retain what they earned before launch. The company did not specify in the demo announcement which other platforms, if any, will receive the full release.

The Prologue Demo is available now on PS5. The full game launches June 18.
