Nintendo of America uploaded a prologue for Star Fox on Nintendo Switch 2 that depicts James McCloud and his team being betrayed by a crewmate.
The clip shows moments before and after the betrayal, focusing on tense interactions, shock and a sudden change in the squad’s dynamics. The sequence uses cinematic framing and updated character and level visuals to present the scene.
Nintendo attached no developer commentary or written explanation to the upload. The prologue presents in-game dialogue and action rather than statements from developers or company representatives.
Nintendo describes the full game, titled Star Fox, as an extended take on the original Star Fox 64. The title reworks stages from the classic game, adds a multiplayer mode, and refreshes visuals across levels and character models.
Star Fox will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25. The full game and its multiplayer features will be available at launch.
