Star Fox Switch 2 footage highlights Mouse Mode Joy-Con aiming
Nintendo shared Switch 2 footage of Star Fox’s Mouse Mode, showing precise Joy-Con pointer aiming in the opening Corneria City stage. The game releases June 25.
Nintendo shared new Switch 2 footage that focuses on Mouse Mode, a pointer-style control option that uses the Joy-Con for aiming. The clip shows the opening Corneria City campaign stage and the title is scheduled to launch on June 25 for the Switch 2.
A short video circulated online after a user reposted the clip. The footage demonstrates how pointer input tracks movement as the Arwing flies through Corneria City and confirms Mouse Mode will be available in the game’s Campaign and Challenge modes.
Visible visual details include higher-resolution textures, stronger lighting, animated holograms and scattered rubble. The clip also shows updated surface detail on structures and enemy craft. Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2 version will include revamped visuals and new cutscenes.
During the rail-shooter sections shown, pointer aiming makes quick, precise adjustments to target lock and movement. The footage does not display every control option, but it presents pointer-style Joy-Con input as a distinct method of play in the modes featured.
Corneria City has appeared in past Star Fox titles, including Star Fox 64; the new clip presents an updated interpretation of the level’s layout and set pieces. Star Fox launches on Switch 2 on June 25.
