Star Trek: Shadow Frontier Coming to Switch 2 and PC

Bloober Team, the Polish studio behind horror titles including Cronos: New Dawn, has announced Star Trek: Shadow Frontier in collaboration with Paramount Games. The Steam page lists the project as ‘Coming Soon’ and names Switch 2 and PC among the platforms without providing a full release list or date.

Players will assume the role of Ro Laren after a crash on a distant planet overtaken by a strange consciousness. The Steam listing describes Ro’s mission as driven by duty and purpose while her memories and perception of reality are corrupted by the planet’s influence.

The Steam listing reads that Ro must survive “in an environment that is as breathtaking as it is lethal,” and that discovery comes at a cost as she is pulled deeper into a corrupted labyrinth where memories twist and the planet threatens to sever her connection to reality.

Gameplay is presented from a third-person perspective and combines exploration, puzzle-solving, combat and cinematic set-pieces. Players will face dangerous creatures and environmental hazards and can choose to engage enemies directly or evade and outmaneuver them. The listing describes the alien ecosystem as an active threat that attempts to absorb Ro’s consciousness and subjects her to haunting visions that affect the narrative and player experience. A content advisory notes intense violence, blood and gore in encounters with alien foes.

The announcement did not include specific release dates, a complete platform list beyond Switch 2 and PC, or gameplay footage. The Steam entry remains labeled ‘Coming Soon.’

Bloober Team also confirmed Cronos: Lazarus, a downloadable expansion for Cronos: New Dawn, scheduled for Fall 2026. The DLC follows the Pathfinder as he becomes the Warden, operating alone in the Terminal while attempting to awaken a lost Essence and evading a relentless hunter.
