Star Wars Zero Company launched on the PlayStation Store for PS5 last week and has received strong early ratings. The PS5 edition has an 85/100 on Metacritic and a 4.6/5 user score on the PlayStation Store from nearly 2,000 verified votes.
Players assume the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads the unit called Zero Company against a major galactic threat. An official overview reads: “Command the galaxy’s finest in tactical operations, investigations and other heart-pounding missions through a cinematic original story. Strategize and adapt at both your base of operations and an ever-shifting battlefield to make every move count. The outcomes of your decisions make each playthrough different.”
The game is a single-player turn-based tactics title that emphasizes planning and decision-making rather than real-time action. Players manage squads, customize equipment and make story choices that influence mission outcomes and future playthroughs.
On the PlayStation Store the base game is listed at $59.99. A Deluxe Edition priced at $69.99 includes additional cosmetic content: a “Grand Army of the Republic” cosmetic pack with a “Republic Officer” uniform and two clone-themed armor sets called “100th Clone Company” and “ARC Trooper”, plus a “Shadow Collective” pack that contains a “Pyke” helmet, five cosmetic tattoos and five weapon themes.
Respawn Entertainment co-developed Zero Company with Bit Reactor and Electronic Arts is the publisher. Sales figures and longer-term reception are not yet available.
