Stranger Than Heaven will not offer an English dub

RGG Studio’s upcoming game Stranger Than Heaven will not include a dedicated English dub. The official product page reads “voice language cannot be changed,” and the studio says the title uses bilingual voice performances tied to characters’ backgrounds.

Several characters switch between Japanese and English depending on who they are speaking to. The protagonist, Makoto Daito, is written as having grown up in the United States before traveling to his mother’s homeland of Japan. Actor Yu Shirota is credited in the role and performs lines in both English and Japanese.

The product page describes the cast as bilingual and presents fixed language performances as part of the game’s design. Because the voice track is matched to characters and who they are speaking with, the release will not offer separate English-only or Japanese-only voice options.

Subtitles will be available in multiple languages. The product page lists support for Japanese, English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Russian, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese.

The language approach was confirmed on the official product page following a recent game showcase. Further technical details and the release date have not yet been announced by the developer.
