Stuntman: Hollywood announced for PS5

Stuntman: Hollywood was announced for PlayStation 5. The arcade-style stunt driving game stages levels as movie shoots and includes licensed stunts drawn from Universal Pictures films and NBCUniversal TV shows, citing Fast & Furious, Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Miami Vice and Death Race among its properties. The announcement did not include a release date; the game can be added to PS5 wishlists.

Each film in the game is divided into episodes. Every episode uses a different vehicle and alters the environment, pace and objectives to create a distinct scene. Players will drive licensed vehicles such as the Time Machine and KITT as well as motorcycles, SUVs and other cars, and the game places an emphasis on timed, scripted set pieces.

Gameplay is driven by an in-game director who issues stunt tasks — drift through a section, hold a tight line, crash through obstacles, dodge incoming fire or ride on two wheels. Runs are limited by a countdown timer and a restricted number of takes. The design separates required cues from optional “free stunts,” where players can take risks to produce dramatic shots.

Performance uses a star system. Players earn stars for completing required and optional stunt objectives; episodes include additional challenge tasks that raise difficulty and offer extra stars. Accumulated stars determine the stunt awards a film receives.

The Garage records progression, collecting trophies, keepsakes and items earned from episodes, films and challenges. The game also includes B-roll episodes, short filler films and stunt arenas for extra scenarios and higher-difficulty runs. The developer referenced earlier stunt-driving titles, including the original Stuntman series and arcade racers, as influences on pace and design.
