Summer Game Fest: 16 PS5 Games Revealed, FFVII in 2027

Summer Game Fest 2026 presented 16 upcoming PlayStation 5 titles from major publishers and independent studios. Announcements included release dates, gameplay trailers and platform details for remakes, sequels, expansions and new single-player and multiplayer projects.

Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will launch on PS5 on July 9, featuring a reimagined version of the sea shanty “Leave Her Johnny” by artist Woodkid. Remedy Entertainment set Control Resonant for September 24; the action-RPG sequel follows Dylan Faden through a paranaturally altered Manhattan and returns to previously unseen areas of the Oldest House.

Square Enix scheduled Final Fantasy VII Revelation for 2027. The publisher described the title as the series finale confrontation with Sephiroth, offering an open world, party-based combat and large-scale encounters. Several other dated releases were announced: The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 3; RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15, which will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers at launch; Star Wars: Galactic Racer on October 6; and Mafia: The Old Country — Man of Honor DLC on August 14.

Lords of the Fallen II carries a 2026 window. Resident Evil Veronica, Gundam Rogue Orbit and Final Fantasy VII Revelation are listed for 2027. Sega provided DLC timing for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles content arriving in July and Avatar content in October, and announced plans for a second season pass.

New intellectual properties and studio returns featured prominently. gen Design revealed gen Atlas, a single-player open-world action-adventure set on an abandoned planet with halted terraforming. ArenaNet confirmed Guild Wars 3 will release on PS5, marking the franchise’s first appearance on home consoles, with beta tests beginning in fall 2027. That’s No Moon made Crossfire available to wishlist, and Aurogon Shanghai showed Swords of Legends with a Spirit Companion system and staged boss encounters.

Presentations relied on trailers and gameplay teasers rather than extended developer commentary. Several entries are remakes or expansions, including a modern reimagining of Code: Veronica titled Resident Evil Veronica and the Man of Honor expansion for Mafia: The Old Country. Developers and publishers in the lineup include Ubisoft Singapore, Remedy, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, CI Games, Jagex, Sega and Capcom.

Platform notes emphasized PS5 availability across the slate. RuneScape: Dragonwilds will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers at launch. ArenaNet highlighted that Guild Wars 3 will be the first mainline Guild Wars entry to appear on home consoles.

The schedule released at Summer Game Fest gives exact dates for several titles and broader 2026–2027 windows for others. Organizers and developers said additional details and hands-on opportunities will be provided ahead of each release.
