Super Mario Galaxy digital May 19, 4K/Blu-ray June 16

Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be available on digital platforms from May 19, 2026. The digital release will allow purchases without ads or a subscription. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray editions on June 16, 2026.

The digital release follows the film’s theatrical run and gives viewers the option to buy the movie to watch at home. The physical 4K and Blu-ray editions will be sold through usual retail channels and online retailers.

Home editions include more than an hour of bonus material. Extras listed for the discs and digital package include a guided look at Easter eggs in the film, exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast, and additional production featurettes that explore aspects of the animation and design.

Universal has said the same bonus programs will appear on both the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray discs. The June 16 releases will make the additional content available to collectors and viewers who prefer physical media.

The film was produced by Nintendo in partnership with Illumination and performed well at the global box office. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment handles distribution for both the digital and disc releases.

The timing of the releases follows recent patterns in studio distribution that move titles from theaters to home formats within months, offering expanded extras for home audiences.
