System Shock 2 Remaster Lands on Switch 2 at $29.99

Atari and Nightdive Studios released System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster for Nintendo Switch 2 today. The remaster is available as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99.

The update adds cross-play co-op multiplayer and lets players choose among three military branches-O.S.A., Marines and Navy-to experiment with different play styles. It also includes enhanced character and weapon models, new animations and a series of quality-of-life improvements.

Atari and Nightdive announced the Switch 2 edition as a modernization of visual and control elements while preserving the original game’s core design for the 25th anniversary.

Developers optimized controller support for Switch 2 hardware and adjusted input mappings and animations to improve the combat feel on the handheld-console hybrid. The remaster is offered only as a downloadable release on the eShop.

Players can purchase and download the remaster from the Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 starting today for $29.99. The release provides an updated version of the 1999 title with multiplayer and visual enhancements on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
