Take-Two: PS5 and Xbox remain primary; Borderlands 4 fixes

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the company’s primary consoles. The publisher has supported Switch 2 and is fixing Borderlands 4 before wider releases.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick told an interviewer that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S remain the company’s primary console platforms. He said the publisher has provided support for Nintendo’s Switch 2 but does not treat it as the main platform for its largest releases.

On platform strategy, Zelnick said, “We want to be wherever the consumer is, and we’ve supported Switch 2. You can tell from what we are doing and what we’re not doing that our primary console platforms remain Sony and Microsoft.”

Zelnick addressed Borderlands 4, saying the company and its partners are responding to problems and prioritizing fixes. He stated, “We’ve been addressing those challenges, and we want to make sure that we’ve fully addressed Borderlands 4 from a consumer’s point of view before we bring it to more platforms.” He said the title will not be brought to additional systems until those issues are resolved from the company’s perspective.

Take-Two publishes major franchises including Grand Theft Auto and other large-scale titles. Zelnick said platform priorities and product readiness are key factors in the company’s release planning.
