Tales of Eternia remaster arrives on PS5 and PS4 Oct. 16
Bandai Namco will release a remaster of 2000’s Tales of Eternia for PS5 and PS4 on Oct. 16, with togglable enhanced visuals, reworked sounds, destination markers, encounter toggle and high-speed combat.
Bandai Namco will release a remaster of Tales of Eternia for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Oct. 16. The remaster offers updated visuals that players can switch back to the original graphics at any time. Some sound effects were reworked so audio changes accompany the visual toggle.
Tales of Eternia first released for the PlayStation in 2000 and was ported to the PSP in 2005. The title has not been available on modern consoles until this re-release. It is the first Tales entry originally developed in 2D to receive a contemporary PlayStation re-release.
The remaster adds destination markers to assist navigation, an enemy encounter toggle to reduce or remove random battles, and a high-speed combat option to accelerate fights. These options are presented as toggles that players can enable or disable during play.
Bandai Namco confirmed the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 release date but has not announced versions for other platforms or any physical editions. The remaster’s packaging and presentation preserve the original game’s design while including the listed quality-of-life changes.
Players who owned the original PlayStation release or the PSP port will be able to access the remaster and its visual and gameplay toggles when it launches on Oct. 16.
