Teardown free multiplayer update adds zombies, Battle Royale

Teardown receives a free multiplayer update on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on Sept. 15, 2026, adding up to 12-player matches, co-op campaign and Mod Pack 6 with Battle Royale, Prop Hunt and zombies.

Teardown will receive a free multiplayer update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Sept. 15, 2026. The update adds online play for up to 12 players, a cooperative campaign mode and Mod Pack 6, which includes Battle Royale, Prop Hunt and a zombie survival option.

Tuxedo Labs developed the update and will make it available at no extra cost to players who own Teardown on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The studio released a trailer that previews the new modes and mods ahead of the release date.

Multiplayer on consoles will support up to 12 players and include cooperative play through the base game’s campaign, allowing players to team up to complete heists and missions. Core competitive modes listed for the launch include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. Players can also use Sandbox Mode for creative matches. Two new dual-sided arenas will be added, and a larger library of community-created maps will be available on consoles.

Mod Pack 6 launches the same day and brings 30 multiplayer-compatible mods to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The pack features Prop Hunt, a Battle Royale mode and a co-op zombie survival experience among other multiplayer-specific mods. Several earlier mod packs will receive updates so mods that were previously single-player only can be used in multiplayer sessions.

Teardown first launched as a single-player sandbox title four years ago and later became available on PC and PS5. Multiplayer features were available on PC before this console release. The PS5 version of the game holds a Metascore of 78 on Metacritic.

The Sept. 15 release will deliver the full multiplayer suite to both PlayStation and Xbox platforms, with cross-platform play where supported by the platform. The trailer released by the developer shows gameplay from the cooperative campaign, competitive modes and selected mods.
