The Lost Wild: Annapurna confirms PS5 dinosaur survival

Annapurna Interactive confirmed The Lost Wild, a first-person survival horror centered on dinosaurs, and announced the game will launch on PlayStation 5 in 2027. The publisher released an announcement trailer for the title.

The trailer presents a prehistoric wilderness where dinosaurs behave as wild animals rather than supernatural monsters. Players are placed below them in the food chain and must rely on avoidance, stealth and quick decisions to survive encounters.

Gameplay is described as “intense cat and mouse-style” encounters that emphasize observation and movement over direct combat. The trailer includes the lines: “Explore a prehistoric wilderness where you’re squarely in the center of the food chain. Keep your head down, stay alert, and evade.”

If escape is impossible, the trailer suggests players can run or attempt to intimidate animals using non-lethal weapons. The game is shown from a first-person perspective to increase immersion and immediate danger.

Annapurna confirmed only a PS5 release window for 2027 and did not name other platforms or provide a firm date. The trailer is the primary promotional material released so far; the publisher has not disclosed the developer studio, multiplayer options or pricing.

Annapurna Interactive has published several independent games and is handling promotion for The Lost Wild. The publisher indicated further details on gameplay mechanics, platform availability and a specific release date will be provided in future updates.
