The Relic: First Guardian arrives July 31, 2026 on PS5
Project Cloud Games and publisher Perp Games announced The Relic: First Guardian will release on PS5 on July 31, 2026. The title moved from a multiplayer project to a single-player “soulslike” action RPG.
Project Cloud Games and publisher Perp Games confirmed The Relic: First Guardian will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on July 31, 2026. The release date follows an extended development period after the game’s direction changed.
First revealed in 2021 as Project Relic, the project began as a multiplayer action title. The studio reworked systems and design toward a single-player experience described by the developers as a “soulslike” action RPG, a shift that lengthened production.
The Relic is a semi-open-world action RPG set in the ruined land of Arsiltus. The official overview reads: “The once-prosperous Arsiltus was swallowed up by the void created by the destruction of the great relic and transformed into a land of death. Now your mission is to find the pieces of the broken great relic and close the void. Grow your character with various skills, solve the riddle of Arsiltus, and lead the world back to prosperity. You are the last hope of the Arsiltus.”
Gameplay includes character progression through multiple skills and five weapon types, each offering distinct playstyles. Early footage and descriptions emphasize action-focused combat and exploration alongside the game’s “soulslike” elements.
The PlayStation Store page for the PS5 version is open for wishlisting. Perp Games and Project Cloud Games have not provided a release schedule for other platforms or details on post-launch content.
The July 31, 2026 date provides a clear launch target after several years of development and the decision to convert the title to a single-player game.
