The Sinking City 2 Arrives on PS5 This Summer
Frogwares announced The Sinking City 2 will launch on PS5 this summer and shifts the series into survival horror, emphasizing combat, survival systems and exploration over investigation.
Frogwares narrowed the PS5 release window for The Sinking City 2 to summer and released an extended gameplay trailer showing a shift to survival horror. The studio wrote that the sequel prioritizes combat, survival systems and exploration over the investigation focus of earlier games.
The footage sets the game in a 1920s Arkham and shows partially flooded streets, collapsed structures and undead enemies. Encounters combine direct combat and resource management, with environmental hazards and limited supplies shaping player choices.
Frogwares described the game as “a survival horror steeped in Lovecraftian dread” and invited players to “Defy an eldritch deity and explore the drowned alleys of Arkham, stalked by the dead, as you weigh one life against an entire city.”
The developer wrote that investigative work remains available but now supports the horror-first design. Game director Alexander Gresko called the investigative side a “beneficial layer” that complements the new approach.
Frogwares also wrote that development has progressed noticeably and the team is eager to see player reactions. The studio did not provide a specific release date in the trailer, only the summer launch window for PS5.
