The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival coming to PS5, PC demo out

A side-scrolling beat ’em up, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2 and PC; a PC demo is available, no release date.

Odaclick Game Studio is developing The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, a side-scrolling beat ’em up, with Trailmark Games set to publish. The title is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC. A playable demo is available now on PC; no release date or release window has been announced for the full game or console versions.

Players will control established characters from the TV series and move through levels that pair walker hordes with hostile human opponents. The developers wrote in an overview: “Play as iconic survivors Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne while fighting through walker-infested tunnels, devastated settlements, and hostile strongholds packed with explosive encounters.” The overview adds that players will “face Alexandria’s most ruthless foes, the Saviors led by Negan, along with overwhelming waves of Walkers as you unleash crushing combos, signature weapon attacks, and devastating finishers in a relentless battle for survival.”

Streets of Survival uses traditional side-scrolling beat ’em up mechanics, emphasizing combo chains, weapon-based attacks and cinematic finishers. Levels described by the studio include underground tunnels, ruined settlements and fortified strongholds. Combat encounters mix close-quarters fighting against large numbers of walkers with human enemies led by familiar antagonists from the series.

The demo is currently limited to PC; the developers have not provided a timeline for a PlayStation Store demo or for console and full PC launches. Updates from Odaclick or Trailmark are expected to clarify platforms, release dates and any planned features for the final release.

The game joins other licensed titles based on the television franchise and uses characters and recurring villains from the series. Following the reveal, some players compared the game’s 2D progression and cooperative potential to classic beat ’em ups such as Streets of Rage.
