Time Crisis on PS Plus launches without PS4 or PS5 trophies

Bandai Namco’s PS1 classic Time Crisis launched on PS Plus and the PlayStation Store yesterday and is listed at $9.99. Both the PS4 and PS5 versions were released without trophy support.

Sony distributed the title through its PS Plus Classics program. The platform typically leaves the decision to add modern trophies to original publishers; at times Sony has worked with rights holders to add trophies after a release.

Implicit Conversions, the firm handling emulation work for Sony, wrote in November 2025 that adding trophy support raises development costs and that some publishers choose not to invest in the feature. “Porting classics is an expensive affair, and some publishers opt out of adding trophies because the feature increases development cost,” the company wrote.

None of Bandai Namco’s PS Plus classic releases so far include PS4 or PS5 trophies. Other publishers, including Capcom, also have classic catalog entries without modern trophy support. Bandai Namco has not issued a public statement about its trophy policy or whether it will add trophies to Time Crisis.

Players who expect trophies found the list missing at launch. There is no confirmed timeline for a post-release patch to add trophies. Publishers decide how much work to put into retro ports and consider development cost against expected sales when selecting which modern features to include.
