Time Crisis PS5 Port Uses DualSense Gyro for Aim

The PS4 and PS5 emulation of Time Crisis uses the DualSense gyroscope for cursor-style aiming. R1 is pedal, Circle is trigger and Triangle recenters. No PlayStation Trophies; $9.99 and in PS Plus Premium.

The PlayStation releases of Time Crisis, an emulated PS1 edition, are available now on PS5 and PS4 for $9.99/£7.99 and are included in the PS Plus Premium catalog. The emulation and platform adaptation were handled by Implicit Conversions to run the PS1 build on modern PlayStation hardware.

The port uses the DualSense controller’s gyroscope to move an on-screen cursor in a light-gun style. Default controls place the pedal on R1, the firing action on Circle and Triangle as a recentre button. Traditional d-pad controls are also available and the control mapping can be changed in settings.

The gyroscope provides a physical aiming action but registers input as a cursor rather than true light-gun signals. The gyro can experience drift during play; pressing Triangle recenters the cursor to correct accumulated offset.

The release defaults to the NTSC PS1 build and offers an option to switch to the PAL version. The PS1 edition includes additional stages not found in the arcade original but contains technical differences compared with the arcade release.

PlayStation Trophies are not included in this release; Bandai Namco has not added Trophy support. The listing confirms compatibility across PS4 and PS5 and availability through PS Plus Premium.

The port preserves the core rail-shooter structure while adapting input for standard controllers and adding extra content to the PS1 emulation.
