Tomodachi Life Tops April U.S. Game Sales; Switch 2 Leads Consoles

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella projects Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream earned more than $41 million in U.S. sales in April; Nintendo’s Switch 2 was the top-selling console, PS5 was second.

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella projects Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was the best-selling game in the United States for April, generating more than $41 million in combined physical and projected digital spending.

Circana’s April ranking is based on the firm’s sales tracking and projection model. Nintendo does not disclose monthly digital sales figures, so Circana combines physical retail data with modeled digital estimates to produce its monthly list.

The projected April top ten included new releases such as Pragmata, Crimson Desert, Pokémon Pokopia and Saros. Tomodachi Life exceeded those titles in total consumer spending for the month.

The April total places Tomodachi Life ninth among U.S. game sales for 2026 to date. The title arrived late on the Switch platform, and the Switch 2 began selling after its launch last year.

On the hardware side, Circana’s figures show Nintendo’s Switch 2 as the best-selling console in April, with Sony’s PlayStation 5 in second place.

Industry observers have noted planned price increases for the Switch 2 scheduled to take effect in September. Circana’s report covers April sales and projections and does not include monthly digital totals disclosed by platform holders.
