Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 arrive on Xbox Oct. 15
Digital Eclipse and Atari will bring Toy Story: Retro Roundup — five early Toy Story games plus A Bug’s Life — to Xbox on Oct. 15; Toy Story 3: Complete Edition also releases that day.
Digital Eclipse and Atari will release Toy Story: Retro Roundup on Xbox on Oct. 15. The collection includes five classic Toy Story games and A Bug’s Life, with several titles appearing on Xbox platforms for the first time. Toy Story 3: Complete Edition will launch the same day.
Retro Roundup gathers 11 distinct releases drawn from original console and handheld versions. The package includes Toy Story (1995) in its Sega Genesis, SNES and Game Boy iterations; Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999) on PlayStation and a separate Toy Story 2 release for Game Boy Color; Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000) on PlayStation and Game Boy Color; Toy Story Racer (2001) on PlayStation and Game Boy Color; and A Bug’s Life (1998) on PlayStation and Game Boy Color.
The titles have been updated with quality-of-life features. Rewind lets players retry sections, and a feature called Rex’s Cheat Codes unlocks game-specific enhancements such as unlimited lives or invincibility. The collection also opens a toy chest of archival material, including interviews, development photos, design documents and a music player.
Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is a reissue of the 2010 3D adventure with upgraded graphics and performance for modern systems. The release supports up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second depending on platform. It preserves Story Mode sequences from the film and the Toy Box Mode sandbox, where players can customize Woody’s Roundup and access additional characters including Evil Emperor Zurg.
In their announcement Digital Eclipse and Atari wrote: “Step back into Andy’s room with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and more classic characters in Toy Story: Retro Roundup. Revisit the ’90s and early 2000s hits you loved and share these titles with a new generation of Toy Story fans.”
Both titles will be available digitally on the Xbox Store on Oct. 15 and are listed at $24.99 each for Xbox Series X and S. No physical edition for Xbox platforms has been announced, and a bundle option has not been confirmed. The re-releases bring several PlayStation, Genesis, SNES and Game Boy-era Toy Story and A Bug’s Life games to Xbox storefronts for the first time and update Toy Story 3 from its previous Xbox 360-era release for modern hardware.
