Turok: Origins delayed to spring 2027

Saber Interactive announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 that Turok: Origins has moved from fall 2026 to spring 2027. It will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Saber Interactive announced it has moved the release window for Turok: Origins from fall 2026 to spring 2027. The studio launched a new story trailer and did not provide a reason for the change. The game is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

Turok: Origins is a new prequel to the 1997 Nintendo 64 title and serves as a modern reboot of the series. Players will control Turok warriors who confront dinosaurs and alien threats across multiple planets and environments.

The game is a third-person shooter with fast-paced combat that supports single-player and cooperative modes. Missions take players through ancient temples, wasteland canyons, dense jungles, swamps and caves. The trailer shows cinematic set pieces and expanded combat sequences.

Combat mixes ranged and melee attacks. Weapon types include plasma rifles, ray guns, snipers, bows and shotguns. A gameplay feature lets players harvest DNA from defeated enemies and the environment to upgrade Turok’s suit and weapons in real time and to improve character skills during missions.

No firm release date or platform-specific timing was given beyond the spring 2027 window. Players can add Turok: Origins to their wishlist on the PlayStation Store and sign up for notifications ahead of a formal launch date.

The Turok franchise began on the Nintendo 64 in 1997 and later had entries on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. Turok: Origins returns to the series’ core concept of human warriors facing prehistoric and alien threats while introducing modern mechanics such as real-time suit upgrades and cooperative play.
