Two PS4 Games Are Free To Claim On The PlayStation Store
Call of Duty: WWII and Mafia III are free to claim on the PlayStation Store in the UK, Europe and some other regions, though Sony has not explained the listings.
Call of Duty: WWII and Mafia III are currently listed at no cost on the PlayStation Store in the United Kingdom, several European regions, India and some South American countries. Players in those locations can add the PS4 games to their libraries and download them without payment.
The listings have not been linked to an announced Sony promotion or PlayStation Plus offer. Sony has not explained why the games are free, so the listings could be the result of a store error or an offer that appeared before an official announcement.
Availability depends on the location of a player’s PlayStation account. Players with access to a qualifying regional account can claim and download the games, then switch to another account on the same console. Access may depend on the console’s account-sharing settings.
Sony could remove the free listings or revoke the licenses if the offer was caused by an error. Players who claim the games may therefore lose access if the store listings are corrected.
Call of Duty: WWII was released in 2017. Its campaign follows Allied forces from the D-Day landings in Normandy through battles across Europe. The game also includes competitive multiplayer and a cooperative Nazi Zombies mode.
Mafia III was released in 2016 and takes place in the fictional city of New Bordeaux in 1968. The game follows Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam War veteran who forms a criminal organization after the Italian Mafia destroys his surrogate family.
