Ubisoft: Original Rayman Legends will stay on sale

Ubisoft says original Rayman Legends versions will remain available after Rayman Legends Retold launches.

Ubisoft has confirmed the original versions of Rayman Legends will remain available for purchase after the company releases Rayman Legends Retold.

The publisher told a fan on social media the ‘original’ versions are ‘staying put’, indicating they will not be delisted.

Rayman Legends Retold is scheduled for October 1, 2026, and will launch on the Switch 2 and other platforms.

Ubisoft describes Retold as a reworking of the 2D platformer that adds new 3D sequences, additional levels and other content.

Players who already own Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition on Switch or other digital versions should continue to have access to those copies.

The Definitive Edition received a 9 out of 10 score when it arrived on Switch in 2017.

Ubisoft used a similar approach when announcing a refreshed version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag earlier this year, confirming the original game would remain available.

The publisher’s brief social media reply addresses fan concern about whether the remake would replace or remove existing digital releases.
