Valkyrie Elysium PS5/PS4 60% off on PlayStation Store

Square Enix’s 2022 action RPG Valkyrie Elysium is discounted 60% on the PlayStation Store and available as a cross-buy for $23.99 through July 2. After the sale ends the digital listing will return to its standard price of $59.99. The current price is the lowest the game has reached since its release.

The discount applies to both the PS5 and PS4 versions. Purchasers receive access to the game on both platforms through cross-buy. PlayStation Plus Premium members can stream Valkyrie Elysium from the cloud while the offer is active.

Valkyrie Elysium was developed by Soleil and published by Square Enix in 2022. The title is part of a series that began in 1999 and was the first home console entry since 2006’s Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. The game uses the franchise’s Einherjar and combo systems in a three-dimensional action format and features a soundtrack by composer Motoi Sakuraba.

The game’s official description notes its focus on fast, three-dimensional combat using the series’ signature systems, an art style that portrays a world collapsing as Ragnarok approaches, and a score from Motoi Sakuraba.

Critic reviews at launch were mixed. On the PlayStation Store the game holds a 4.01 out of 5 star rating based on more than 3,000 user ratings.
