Valor Mortis: AAA PS5 RPG launches Oct. 13 for $39.99
Valor Mortis arrives on PS5 Oct. 13, 2026 at $39.99; Lyrical Games will not offer PlayStation Store preorders and will sell a $59.99 Deluxe Edition.
Valor Mortis, a historical action role-playing game developed by One More Level and published by Lyrical Games, will release on PlayStation 5 on Oct. 13, 2026. The base edition is priced at $39.99 and preorders will not be available through the PlayStation Store.
Lyrical Games set the $39.99 price to reflect a crowded fall release schedule and to allow players to judge the finished product at launch. In its announcement the publisher wrote, “We believe the game has the quality, fidelity, and playtime in its 20-hour story to go toe-to-toe with many full-price titles.”
The publisher said it will not accept PlayStation Store preorders because it wants consumers to make purchase decisions after reviews and first impressions are available. The announcement added, “You’ll be able to buy it when you have a full picture of Valor Mortis’ quality, creativity and craft at launch.”
Lyrical Games described Valor Mortis as a AAA-quality title with a roughly 20-hour single-player story. The game blends first-person combat with design elements associated with Soulslike titles. One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, is developing the game for PS5.
A Deluxe Edition will be offered at $59.99 and will include major story downloadable content and several cosmetic packs. The publisher indicated the Deluxe Edition bundles planned post-launch narrative expansion with cosmetic items.
Lyrical Games did not disclose system requirements or confirm release on platforms beyond PlayStation 5. The company cited the busy fall release window and competing consumer spending as factors in its pricing and preorder decisions.
