Velan Studios Developed Star Fox for Switch 2; Demo Live

Velan Studios confirmed on BlueSky that it developed the new Star Fox title for Nintendo Switch 2. A playable demo for the game is available now on the Nintendo eShop for Switch 2.

The studio wrote the announcement was “a relief” to share. The eShop demo lets players try a portion of the game; Velan did not provide a firm release date for the full title.

Velan is known for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. Its team includes founders of Vicarious Visions and developers who previously worked on Super Mario Maker, Metroid Prime, Destiny and Uncharted.

EA announced plans to publish a Velan project on the Nintendo Switch platform. It remains unclear whether that publishing arrangement applies to the Star Fox title or a separate Velan project; Nintendo and EA have not released further details connected to Velan’s BlueSky post.

Velan has not published technical details for the Switch 2 version, such as performance targets or feature differences from earlier Star Fox games. Players can download the demo now from the Switch 2 eShop.
