Void/Breaker Launches on PS5 After PC Early Access
Void/Breaker, a roguelite first-person shooter, is now available on PS5 for $29.99 after more than a year in PC Early Access.
Void/Breaker launched on the PlayStation Store for PS5 on Wednesday, Nov. 4, priced at $29.99. The release is the game’s full 1.0 version following more than a year in Early Access on PC.
Daniel Stubbington developed the single-player shooter under the name Stubby Games. He is also the creator of the science-fiction puzzle game The Entropy Centre. PlayStack, the publisher of Mortal Shell II and Balatro, published Void/Breaker.
The game places players in a science-fiction setting controlled by a hostile artificial intelligence. They are trapped in an endless sequence and must find a way to escape.
Combat combines fast movement, gunfights and bullet-hell elements. Players must avoid incoming attacks, choose which fights to enter and select routes during each run. Riskier paths offer greater rewards, while safer routes provide a less aggressive option.
Players can combine weapon modifications to create different firearms and test various combat strategies. The developer describes the system as offering “limitless weapon combinations.”
The environment can also be used during fights. Players can destroy walls, collapse structures and open new routes through levels. These changes can create alternate ways to reach enemies or provide an advantage during combat.
Void/Breaker is also available on Xbox Series X|S. On Steam, the game has received “Very Positive” reviews based on more than 2,000 ratings.
