Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II launches May 21

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II releases May 21, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; standard price $39.99, with a digital Omnissiah edition including artbook and soundtracks.

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios announced Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II will release on May 21, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The standard edition will cost $39.99. An Omnissiah edition will be offered as a digital bundle that includes a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, and an in-game legacy soundtrack.

The sequel continues the turn-based strategy gameplay of the 2018 original and lets players command forces from either the Adeptus Mechanicus or the Necron dynasties on a newly contested world.

Mechanicus II introduces environmental mechanics intended to affect unit movement and combat across maps. The developer released a detailed preview video alongside the release date that shows how terrain and new interactions can change positioning and engagement on each turn.

The game’s narrative centers on a planet where a Necron dynasty led by Vargard Nefershah awakens and confronts human tech-priests, and Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to respond. The official description reads, “After millennia of slumber, Vargard Nefershah mobilizes her dynasty’s legions to annihilate the Adeptus Mechanicus interlopers who unknowingly settled upon her world. Across the galaxy, Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to bring his hard-won expertise to bear and ensure the Necrons do not succeed. The conflict soon becomes a crucible of unanticipated significance, drawing to it external actors stranger and more deadly still.”

Kasedo confirmed the Omnissiah edition will be digital at launch and did not announce any physical special editions or platform-exclusive content in the initial reveal. The developer describes Mechanicus II as a direct sequel that expands the tactical framework of the earlier game and updates the audiovisual presentation for current-generation consoles and PC.
