What to Expect at Sony’s June State of Play

Sony will stream a State of Play presentation on June 2, 2026, with a runtime of more than an hour. Marvel’s Wolverine is confirmed to open the show, and select U.S. theaters will host screenings of the presentation. Sony has not published a full lineup.

Insomniac Games is the developer of Marvel’s Wolverine and will lead the broadcast’s opening segment. The theatrical screenings are scheduled in addition to the online livestream.

The June date places the show before other major summer showcases. The extended runtime and theater screenings indicate the presentation will include multiple segments beyond a single trailer.

Titles named in pre-show coverage and industry briefings include Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a Cory Barlog-directed project from Santa Monica Studio reportedly centered on Faye, and Media Molecule’s post-Dreams project. Marvel Tokon is due August 9, 2026, and six launch characters in its roster remain unrevealed.

Publishers and developers linked to the event also include Capcom, which has hinted at a release date announcement for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and additional Monster Hunter Wilds content; Konami’s Silent Hill: Townfall, slated for PS5 this year; and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, due later in 2026.

Square Enix has moved the Final Fantasy VII remake project to multiformat development, and no PlayStation-exclusive reveal has been confirmed for the trilogy’s concluding installment. Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled for September 2026 and has been mentioned in connection with a possible PS5 demo tied to the show.

Hardware and service items named ahead of the broadcast include reports of an OLED version of the PS Portal and announcements related to PS Plus and PS Plus Premium. Sony has implemented recent PS Plus price adjustments and is running a Days of Play promotion this month.

Live-service titles and immediate-release strategies are being discussed in relation to the State of Play. Break In, an expected rename to Fairgames, has been associated with the possibility of a near-immediate release announcement. Bad Robot Games’ 4Loop, a project with Sony backing, has been listed among games developers may present during the show.
