Where Winds Meet is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud with Xbox Play Anywhere. Game Pass Ultimate members can claim a perks bundle June 7–July 23 (PT).

NetEase Games has released the free-to-play Wuxia open-world action RPG Where Winds Meet on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The company offered an early look at the next expansion, Hidden Mountain, and announced an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks bundle available to members from June 7 to July 23 (PT).

The Game Pass Ultimate perks pack for Phase 1 includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, 6 Attune Stones, 3 Large Attune Stones, 3 Pillow Pills and 3 Lingering Melodies. NetEase positioned the bundle as starter resources for new players accessing the game through Game Pass.

NetEase applied console optimizations for living-room play, including an overhauled user interface and larger text scaling. The Xbox release supports Smart Delivery, full HDR and AMD FSR2 upscaling. On Xbox Series X the game receives a 4K upscale from 1080p, while Series S gets a 2K upscale from 900p. The developer also reported memory improvements and other performance adjustments for consistent frame rates on consoles.

Where Winds Meet is set in 10th-century China during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Players control a young wanderer who moves through shifting alliances and faction politics. Since its initial launch last November, the game has reached more than 80 million players and received two expansions, Hexi and Imperial Palace.

The open world spans multiple regions, including countryside, cities, deserts, snow-capped mountains, grasslands and the Imperial Palace. The game offers more than 150 hours of solo gameplay, supports up to four-player co-op and includes PvP duels, guild activities, multiplayer dungeons and raids.

Combat focuses on Wuxia-style martial arts with a wide weapon set and swap mechanics. Weapons include swords, dual blades, glaives, umbrellas, fans and bows. Players can unlock skills such as Lion’s Roar, Acupuncture Hitting and Tai Chi. Characters can also take non-combat roles such as doctor, merchant, assassin or bounty hunter, which affect interactions with game systems.

Hidden Mountain was previewed during the Xbox showcase as a new region built around vertical, multi-layered terrain. The expansion will add narrative elements related to the Mohist sect and introduce new martial arts mechanics tied to the mountain setting. No release date for Hidden Mountain has been announced.

Where Winds Meet supports cross-play across Xbox, PlayStation 5, PC and mobile. NetEase continues to release updates and content expansions for the title following its initial launch.
