Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past for PS5, Xbox, PC

CD Projekt Red announced Songs of the Past, a third expansion for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, developed in partnership with Fools Theory and scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The company confirmed there is no planned release for the Nintendo Switch.

Fools Theory, the studio behind The Thaumaturge and currently working on a remake of the original Witcher, is co-developing the expansion with CD Projekt Red. The publisher updated The Witcher III’s minimum system requirements in connection with the announcement, indicating the new content will demand higher performance than earlier releases. No specific hardware targets or technical details were provided.

CD Projekt Red gave a 2027 launch window but did not provide a specific release date, pricing, or the scale of the expansion. The company has not stated whether Songs of the Past will be a single large story pack or a series of updates, nor did it comment on any potential future ports or upgrades for Nintendo hardware.

The Witcher III originally launched in 2015 and was followed by two major paid expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The base game and its expansions have been reissued in multiple editions across consoles and PC. Songs of the Past is being offered as additional paid content for current-generation consoles and PC.
