Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember coming to Xbox Game Pass in early 2027
KOEI TECMO’s Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud in early 2027 and arrive day one on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
KOEI TECMO will release Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud in early 2027. The game will be available day one through Xbox Game Pass and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing access on console and PC with a single purchase or Game Pass entitlement.
Team NINJA developed the sequel. Wings of Ember takes place in a dark-fantasy version of the late Eastern Han period during the rise of the Three Kingdoms. Players control a new protagonist who fights demons and rival warlords across large battlefields. Some characters from the first game will return.
The developer described combat as an evolved Chinese martial arts system that combines offensive and defensive moves. A deflect technique tied to a Spirit mechanic converts defensive timing into opportunities to deal heavy damage against bosses and large enemies.
KOEI TECMO released an initial trailer alongside the announcement and opened wishlists. The company noted that images shown come from an in-development build and may change before release.
KOEI TECMO added the first game, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The publisher said the original title has reached more than 5 million players worldwide and encouraged Game Pass subscribers to play Fallen Dynasty ahead of the sequel’s launch.
The series’ producer and director wrote in the announcement that the team is excited to reveal the game’s development and confirmed the early 2027 Xbox release and Game Pass availability.
