Leaked footage shows Worms Galactic Tactics playtest

Leaked screenshots and several minutes of gameplay posted on May 7 by X user @EvilLeeker show Team17 playtesting an unannounced 3D, turn-based Worms title reportedly called Worms Galactic Tactics, internally codenamed Project Arrakis. The material includes in-engine footage and images that resemble a Steam store listing.

The clips show grid-based, turn-driven combat in three-dimensional arenas. Players move individual units on a tactical map and then use weapons or abilities against opponents. Levels shown are relatively small in scale and include destructible terrain. Some attacks produce effects such as knockback and stun.

After completing stages, the footage displays a currency screen where players can spend coins on upgrades. Those upgrade menus and the stage-to-stage progression suggest a run-based or roguelike structure, though the clips do not confirm permanent progression systems or endgame content. A screenshot that appears to show Steam listing details is included among the leaked assets.

The posts followed earlier images tied to the Project Arrakis codename. The source of the leak has not been confirmed by Team17. Public discussion has noted uneven reliability in the original poster, while the subsequent gameplay clips present multiple angles and UI elements consistent with the earlier screenshots.

Team17 is the developer and publisher behind the Worms franchise, which began as a 2D artillery series. Most mainline Worms entries have used free-form movement rather than grid-based tactics. The leaked material depicts a turn-based, grid-oriented approach while retaining trademark elements such as strategic weapon use and destructible environments.

There has been no official announcement, release window, platform list, pricing details, or confirmation of multiplayer modes. The leaks do not clarify whether classic Worms modes will be included. Team17 had not issued a statement about the leak at the time of publication.
