Xbox players pick Banjo-Kazooie as top Players Voice request

Users on Microsoft’s new Xbox Players Voice ranked a new Banjo-Kazooie game as the site’s most requested title.

Microsoft’s newly opened Xbox Players Voice site collected suggestions and votes from Xbox users. On the platform, the most-requested change was for Xbox to return to console exclusives, while the single most-requested new game was a Banjo-Kazooie title, ahead of Halo and Gears of War entries.

Votes from the Xbox community pushed the Banjo-Kazooie request to the top of the site’s list. The last Banjo-Kazooie game, Nuts and Bolts for Xbox 360, remains playable on current Xbox consoles through Microsoft’s backwards compatibility program.

Microsoft launched Players Voice as a place for players to suggest and prioritize features and games. The company has not announced any plans to greenlight a new Banjo-Kazooie title based on the site’s results.

It is not yet known which studio would develop a new entry in the series if Microsoft chooses to proceed. Microsoft has added several development studios through acquisitions in recent years, increasing the number of internal teams that could work on legacy franchises.

Players used the site to surface a range of ideas, with exclusivity and legacy series appearing among the top topics. The Players Voice site remains open for submissions and votes as Microsoft collects community input.
