Xbox CEO to Remove PS5, Switch Logos From Future Shows

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma acknowledged she will drop PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch logos from future Xbox showcases, calling their prior inclusion “a miss”.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma acknowledged she will remove PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch logos from future Xbox showcases after mixed reaction to recent presentations that included rival platform icons.

Her remarks followed an appearance by Xbox executive Matt Booty on the official Xbox podcast the day after the studio announced Fable’s delay to February 2027. On the podcast, Booty described the company’s plan to continue showing which platforms games are coming to and said multiplatform logos would remain part of the current showcase format. He told listeners, “We’ll be very clear about what platforms a game is coming to, and we want to continue the precedent that we’ve got a good system going where we make it clear in the showcase.”

Social media response to Booty’s comments was mixed. Sharma wrote on social media that including non‑Xbox logos had been “a miss” and accepted responsibility. She added that leadership is “talking about how we adjust for future XBOX shows.”

Booty confirmed there will be no Project Helix news at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and added that the lineup and presentation for that event are already set, making immediate changes to the show’s format unlikely to affect the 2026 showcase.

Xbox has recently displayed every platform a title will launch on at the time of a reveal, including PS5, Steam and Switch. Sony and Nintendo generally emphasize their own first‑party platforms rather than marking multiplatform releases with rival console logos.

Responses online varied: some viewers praised the transparency of listing all platforms, while others said the presence of rival logos was distracting for a publisher showcase. One example noted in commentary showed a PS5 icon during a Halo reveal.

Xbox has not announced a formal policy change or a timeline for implementing adjustments beyond Sharma’s statement that the issue is under discussion.
