Xbox June Indie Selects: six indie games on Xbox Store

ID@Xbox launched its June Indie Selects collection on the Xbox Store and at Xbox.com/IndieSelects, presenting six indie releases in a curated hub. The collection includes Wax Heads, Invincible VS, Directive 8020, Dungeon Clawler, Until Then and Adorable Adventures. The Indie Select Hub features rotating themed spotlights that update weekly.

The hub groups recent indie releases and highlights different design approaches. Wax Heads is a narrative-driven life simulation set in a struggling record shop. Players search crates of records, solve light conversational puzzles and assist customers as they attempt to revive the store.

Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag-team fighting game based on the comic and animated series. The title supports online and offline matches, a cinematic story mode that introduces a new character, and a training suite with tutorials and practice options. The developer credited experience from fighting-game designers and built accessibility features alongside deeper combo systems.

Directive 8020 is a sci-fi survival horror entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology. Set aboard the colony ship Cassiopeia, the game centers on stealth, tense encounters and branching choices as crew members face a shape-shifting alien threat. Gameplay emphasizes sneaking, tool use and reactive decision-making.

Dungeon Clawler adapts deckbuilding into a claw-machine mechanic. Players draw abilities from capsule pulls rather than standard card draws, creating combinations that rely on both strategy and chance. The game offers replayability through character choices and escalating difficulty.

Until Then is a 2.5D coming-of-age narrative set in the Philippines in the 2010s. The game combines text-based conversations, occasional minigames and animated pixel scenes to follow a young protagonist through friendship, grief and personal growth. The estimated runtime is about 18 hours.

Adorable Adventures is a short, non‑violent exploration game where players control a young boar tracking family members through varied biomes using scent-tracking mechanics. The game contains puzzles, photo opportunities and light challenges, with a runtime of roughly four to five hours and a design aimed at low-stress play.
