Xbox May 11-15 Releases: Subnautica 2, Outbound, Backrooms

Xbox releases May 11-15 include Subnautica 2 (Game Preview), Outbound and Backrooms, plus dozens of smaller titles across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, many on Game Pass.

Xbox will release a slate of games from May 11 through May 15 that includes several headline titles and numerous indie and smaller releases across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC. Multiple games will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch or listed in Game Pass catalogs. Release dates are subject to change per publisher listings.

Unknown Worlds Entertainment will release Subnautica 2 as a Game Preview title on May 14. The game offers an underwater survival experience on an alien world, with single-player and four-player cooperative modes, base building and crafting. Subnautica 2 is listed as optimized for Xbox Series X|S and as an Xbox Play Anywhere title for cross-buy on PC and console.

Outbound from Square Glade Games arrives May 11. The open-world exploration and crafting title has players convert a blank camper van into a sustainable mobile home, source energy from solar, wind or water, build workstations and grow crops. Outbound supports up to four players, is on Game Pass at launch, and is optimized for Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Horror entry Backrooms from Puppet Combo is scheduled for May 14. The game follows a character trapped in an uncanny office maze over seven in-game days and is listed with Smart Delivery and Series X|S optimization. Supermassive Games will release Directive 8020 on May 12; the cinematic sci-fi horror adventure is available for pre-order at $49.99 and includes a limited-time bundle of digital outfits, collectibles, cinematic filters, an artbook and a soundtrack.

Other releases include Call of the Elder Gods from Kwalee on May 12, Nitro Gen Omega from DESTINYbit on May 11 with a temporary price reduction to $26.99, and fighting-card hybrid Yomi 2 on May 13. Roguelike Menace from the Deep: Complete Edition, historical strategy Gallipoli and action RPG RoadOut all launch May 14. Lighter and smaller titles appearing May 15 include Pawbay, a local co-op cat game, and Summerhouse, a small-scale building title.

Several lower-priced games are scheduled across the week: Hidden Memory – Neko’s Life is listed at $4.99 for May 14, Aery – Calm Horizon at $11.99 for May 15, and Zumba World – The Marble Monster Adventure at $5.99 for May 15. Platform notes in store listings indicate many titles are optimized for Xbox Series X|S, several use Smart Delivery to span console generations, and Xbox Play Anywhere entries support play on both Xbox and Windows with a single purchase.

Publishers provide feature lists, platform notes and pre-order information in official store pages. Players seeking specific platform compatibility, pre-order bonuses or Game Pass availability should consult the Xbox store or the Next Week on Xbox roundup for the official release pages and the latest updates.
