Xbox Network outage blocks sign-ins, online play worldwide

Xbox Network is offline worldwide, preventing profile sign-ins, online multiplayer, cloud saves and other services. The Xbox Status page shows teams are investigating and displays the notice ‘we’re working on the issue’.

Players in multiple regions reported the problem this morning. Reports indicate users could not sign in, were disconnected while signed in and could not access online matches, cloud saves or social features. The disruption affected games, apps and other functions that require a user sign-in.

Service trackers and user posts recorded a sharp rise in problem reports within the last hour. At the time of writing, attempts to join online matches, load cloud-based saves or view friend lists can return errors or fail to connect.

The Xbox Status page posted a notice saying features that require sign-in, including most games, apps and social activity, may be unavailable. The page did not include an estimated time for full restoration.

Temporary Xbox Network outages have occurred previously and in some cases lasted an hour or two while engineers worked to restore service. Microsoft updates the Xbox Status page and its support channels as progress is made; users should check those pages for the latest information and for confirmation when services are restored.
