Xbox rolls out poster-style library, wishlist, friend tools
Xbox is releasing four features to Insiders in June 2026: poster-style My Games & Apps artwork, mutual-friend visibility, Game Card wishlist buttons and an energy-saving shutdown option.
Microsoft’s Xbox team began rolling out four console features to select members of the Xbox Insider program in June 2026. The features will be made available to more testers over time before a wider public release.
One feature adds mutual-friend visibility on user profiles, subject to each user’s privacy settings. Profiles for people who are not yet friends will show the number of mutual friends they share with the viewer.
My Games & Apps gains a library display that uses larger poster-style artwork for games. Users can choose which status icons appear on the game tiles to create a cleaner view. Personalization settings for Home and My Games & Apps have been separated into distinct sections, and new menu shortcuts have been added to help users navigate those options.
Players can now add upcoming titles to their wishlist directly from a game’s Game Card before the title is available for purchase. In its announcement, Xbox wrote, “Spotted an upcoming game you’re excited about? You can now add games to your wishlist directly from the Game Card before they’re available for purchase.”
An update to power settings will change consoles set to Sleep mode to the Shutdown (energy saving) option for Insider testers. Xbox noted the Shutdown option, introduced to Insiders in 2023, can cut power use by up to 20x while a console is off. The company said the setting does not affect performance, gameplay or a console’s ability to receive system, game or app updates overnight. The change is available to members testing on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Xbox is rolling the features out gradually, so only a subset of Insider members will see all four features immediately. Testers who encounter problems or want to share input can submit reports through the Xbox Insider channels used for dashboard and system updates.
