Xbox sells Premium Upgrades for Halo, Gears and Fable

Microsoft opened pre-orders for Premium Upgrade editions of Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day and Fable after the Xbox Games Showcase. The upgrades are priced between $20 and $39.99 and target Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Each upgrade is sold separately from the full Premium Edition and requires either ownership of the base game or an active Game Pass subscription to access the added content.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Premium Upgrade costs $20 and offers up to five days of early access beginning July 23, 2026. The upgrade includes Classic 2001 Mark V armor and Assault Rifle skins and Gilded Onyx armor and weapon styles. The Premium Edition Upgrade bundle also adds an Alpha Halo Armory Pack with five Master Chief armor skins and six weapon skins, a digital artbook titled Art of Halo: Campaign Evolved, a short story called Halo: Hungry Buzzards and a digital game manual.

Gears of War: E-Day Premium Upgrade is $30 and grants up to five days of early access starting October 1, 2026. The package contains the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, five seasonal customization packs beginning with the Emergence Pack at launch, and 1,000 Iron, the game’s premium currency. Additional seasonal packs will be delivered as they are released.

Fable Premium Upgrade costs $39.99 and begins early access on February 18, 2027. It unlocks the Fable Premium Edition Content Pack, which includes two cosmetic armour sets, Splendid Armour and Bastard Armour, with matching footwear, leg and torso pieces. The upgrade also grants three each of Queen’s Bouquets, Bags of Offal and Decadent Gold Leaf Bread, items that can be given to NPCs to influence perception and earn Reputation. The package includes a digital artbook and soundtrack and provides access to the post-launch expansion Fable: Order of the Hero, where players explore a new region of Albion controlled by an ancient cult and can rise to lead that cult through narrative choices.

Microsoft says each Premium Upgrade provides the same premium extras as the full Premium Edition but does not include the base game. Owners of the full Premium Edition are not eligible to purchase the Upgrade. Players who want the base game must buy the Premium Edition or select a Standard or Collector’s Edition where available; some collector editions have limited stock.

Pre-orders began immediately after the showcase and early access dates vary by title. Microsoft is offering the Premium Upgrades as paid add-ons for Game Pass subscribers that deliver early entry and additional digital content.
