Xbox: Project Helix Won’t Appear at June 7 Showcase
Matt Booty said Project Helix will not appear at the June 7 Xbox Games Showcase; hardware announcements are planned later in 2026.
Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty told the Xbox Podcast that Project Helix will not be shown at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7. He said the event will focus on games and the teams that make them, and that any Helix-related announcements are planned for later in 2026.
Booty said the showcase will highlight titles Microsoft has scheduled for the next 12 months and the studios behind those projects. “The focus is going to be on these games. We really want to focus on the teams and on the games, and this is not going to be a place where we’re going to talk about strategy broadly,” he said.
When asked directly about Project Helix, Booty replied, “I can also say that there won’t be [Project] Helix news. Helix will not be in this showcase.” He added the company wants to get timing and details right and that hardware and broader strategy updates will be presented at a later date.
Microsoft’s upcoming slate includes first-party releases such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day and the recently delayed Fable. The June showcase is expected to include updates from external partners and possible new first-party announcements.
Project Helix refers to Xbox’s next-generation console plans. Booty’s comments draw a line between software-focused showcases and separate communications about hardware and company strategy, with further information on Helix due later in 2026.
