Xbox launches translucent OG Green Series X25 for 25th

Microsoft unveiled a limited-edition translucent OG Green Xbox Series X25 console with 1 TB and a matching Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, coming to select markets in November.

Microsoft announced a limited-edition Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console and an Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition to mark Xbox’s 25th anniversary. The Series X25 includes 1 TB of storage. Both items are due in select markets in November and will be offered together as a limited edition collection; the controller will also be sold separately.

The Series X25 is the first Series X to use a translucent finish and adopts an OG Green color inspired by the original 2001 Xbox. Microsoft said the console retains the same power and performance as the standard Series X. The top X lights up in green when the console powers on, and the front panel carries an XBOX 25th Anniversary logo. The announcement mentioned a number of hidden surprises built into the hardware as a thank-you to the community.

The Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition uses the same translucent OG Green and incorporates design cues from 25 years of Xbox controllers. It features the original ABXY button colors and a green D-pad; the bumpers reference the black and white buttons on the original “Duke” controller. The back case and battery door are transparent, revealing a classic Xbox logo inside.

Pricing and preorder details will be announced with select retailers at a later date. The company has not specified which markets will receive the limited edition collection.

Microsoft wrote, “To celebrate 25 years of XBOX built alongside players, we’re introducing the XBOX 25th anniversary collection.” The announcement described the releases as part of broader anniversary activities and included a brief message thanking players for their role over the past 25 years.
