Xbox users urge Microsoft to keep big games off PS5

Xbox users flooded CEO Asha Sharma’s new feedback portal, pressing Microsoft to keep major Xbox titles off PS5. The top suggestion reached nearly 10,000 upvotes and more than 1,000 comments.

Xbox users submitted thousands of entries to Microsoft’s new public feedback portal after CEO Asha Sharma opened the suggestions box. The most-upvoted submission called for a return to platform exclusives and had nearly 10,000 upvotes and more than 1,000 comments at the time of reporting.

The top submission read: “XBOX was built off of great game exclusives, you cannot sell any consoles without a reason to buy the console compared to your competition or even sending your tentpole games over to your competitor. BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!!!” Several other posts repeated the demand for exclusives in capital letters.

Users named specific franchises they want to remain Xbox-only, including Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Forza Horizon 6 and The Elder Scrolls 6. A commonly shared comment urged Microsoft not to release campaign or mainline entries for those series on PS5 and to keep future Xbox Studios games exclusive to Xbox platforms.

Microsoft has stated it is “re-evaluating” its approach to exclusives. Earlier company leadership described exclusivity as an “antiquated” concept. No formal policy change has been announced.

Over recent years Microsoft has spent roughly $100 billion on acquiring game publishers and has added many first-party titles to Game Pass, its subscription service that offers access to games for a monthly fee rather than individual purchases.

Some Xbox titles have appeared on PS5; players purchased Forza Horizon 5 and Sea of Thieves on Sony’s console after those games launched there. Users on the feedback portal cited those multi-platform releases as a reason to prefer future titles remain Xbox-only.

Sharma introduced the suggestions portal after assuming the Xbox CEO role. The portal allows players to submit ideas and vote on other users’ submissions. The top submission’s vote and comment totals reflect concentrated interest from parts of the Xbox community in exclusives.

No additional announcements about platform availability or a change in exclusivity policy have been made. Industry observers are expected to watch for any formal updates from Microsoft later this year.
