Yuji Horii to Reveal Next Dragon Quest on May 27

Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series, will reveal details about the franchise’s next game during a live stream on May 27 that marks the series’ 40th anniversary.

Horii announced the stream during an appearance on the KosoKoso Broadcast and indicated the development team expects to make a specific announcement about the “next game” on that date.

He mentioned the broadcast will include “various other things besides the next game” but did not provide further specifics.

Publisher Square Enix has not issued an official event notice for the broadcast.

Many observers expect the update will concern Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate, which was first revealed during the series’ 35th anniversary. A May 27 announcement could cover platforms, release timing, gameplay direction, or development progress.

On the broadcast Horii stated, “We’ll be doing a live stream on May 27. I think we’ll be able to make an announcement about the next game.” He added, “There will be various other things besides the next game.”
