Hulk, Black Panther Join Fighting Avengers in MARVEL Tōkon
Hulk and Black Panther were revealed at EVO Japan 2026 as additions to MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, joining Captain America and Iron Man as the Fighting Avengers and adding a Wakanda stage.
Producer Takeshi Yamanaka announced at EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo that Hulk and Black Panther are joining MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The two characters form the Fighting Avengers team alongside Captain America and Iron Man and will appear in the game’s Episode Mode as participants in the Challenge of the Champion tournament.
The announced roster lists Captain America voiced by Brian Bloom and Iron Man voiced by Josh Keaton. Hulk will be voiced by Fred Tatasciore and Black Panther by Erica Luttrell. The developer confirmed the team appears in gameplay as a four-person squad taking part in tournament qualifiers that can lead to a match with the Champion.
A new Wakanda stage was also shown. The setting is presented as a nation with advanced technology and natural landscapes ruled by Shuri, who has recently taken on the Black Panther mantle while continuing her role as Wakanda’s chief scientist.
Hulk’s inclusion is tied to the game’s storyline. In the game’s version of events, Hulk was exiled to the Savage Land by the government, S.H.I.E.L.D., and some Avengers after his power and instability became a threat. Designers gave him dinosaur bone armor and a feral visual style. In play, Hulk builds a Gamma Gauge by channeling anger; when full he enters Gamma Rage, which increases strength and speed and enables high-damage one-hit attacks.
Shuri’s Black Panther is designed as a fast, mobile fighter with long reach. Her weapon is the Spear of Bashenga. She has a mobility skill called Bast’s Blessing that consumes a dedicated gauge and can be canceled from normal attacks and skills to create combos and mix-ups. The developers described her as effective at controlling mid-range with spear strikes and then closing quickly to press the attack.
The event trailer also introduced an antagonist called the Champion, an Elder of the Universe who seeks hand-to-hand combat and destroys worlds that fail to satisfy him. The Champion travels with a promoter and has launched the Challenge of the Champion tournament, which pits teams of four against each other for the right to face him.
Yamanaka wrote that player feedback from the EVO Japan demo is already being used to shape development. The next public builds will appear at Combo Breaker 2026 in Chicago starting May 22 and at Hong Kong Comic Con starting May 29; those builds will include the newly announced Black Panther and the Wakanda stage, bringing the demo roster to 13 playable characters and five stages. The team stated development is in its final stages and more information will be released ahead of launch.
