Valve hikes Steam Deck OLED prices up to $300 - ps5.news

Valve raised Steam Deck OLED prices: 512GB now $789, 1TB $949, increases of $240 and $300 amid higher component costs.

Valve raised prices for the Steam Deck OLED handheld this week. The 512GB model’s MSRP increased by $240 to $789 and the 1TB model’s MSRP rose by $300 to $949. Regional MSRPs are £649/€779 for the 512GB and £779/€919 for the 1TB. Before the change, the 512GB sold for $549 and the 1TB for $649.

Valve confirmed the new MSRPs apply to new retail units and to listings on its online storefront. The LCD version of the Steam Deck keeps its existing price in markets where it is still sold. Refurbished units remain available at lower price points.

The company and other hardware makers point to higher costs and constrained supplies for key components as factors behind recent price adjustments. Nintendo raised the price of the Switch 2 by $50 to $499.99 earlier this year. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa warned the company could still be affected by the “uncertainties” of component prices in 2026 and the following year.

Valve has not released its planned Steam Controller or Steam Machine products and has not set prices for those devices. Retailers and Valve’s storefront list the new OLED MSRPs for the Steam Deck.
