Pragmata director open to sequel, Capcom holds decision

Pragmata director open to sequel, Capcom holds decision - ps5.news

Pragmata director Yonghee Cho said he would welcome a sequel but Capcom retains the final decision; the game sold more than 2 million copies in 16 days and a Switch 2 port released last month.

Pragmata director Yonghee Cho expressed support for a potential sequel during a recent interview, while noting he is not the final decision-maker. Capcom’s producer Naoto Oyama and the company’s public relations team made clear that any move on a follow-up title would be decided at the company level.

Cho stated, “Of course I’d love to see a sequel,” and was asked by PR to frame that as his “own personal opinion on the matter.” The request to clarify the comment was presented during the interview; Oyama added with a laugh, “Please don’t take that line out of context.”

Capcom released Pragmata earlier this year. The title sold more than 2 million copies within its first 16 days on the market. A Switch 2 version of the game arrived last month, extending platform support and keeping the title active in sales and discussion.

Oyama emphasized that his current focus remains on the existing game. He noted ongoing development and support work that the team is handling before any formal talks about a sequel would begin.

As of now, Capcom has not announced development of a Pragmata sequel. Any decision on a follow-up would be made internally, taking into account factors such as market demand, resource allocation, and the company’s broader development priorities.
