Street Fighter 6 adds Avatar modes, Ingrid DLC on May 28 - ps5.news

Street Fighter 6 will add Avatar Random Match and Avatar Arcade Mode on May 28, launching alongside paid DLC character Ingrid.

Capcom announced an update for Street Fighter 6 that adds two avatar-focused modes, Avatar Random Match and Avatar Arcade Mode, on May 28. The update will release the same day the paid DLC character Ingrid becomes available.

Players can create custom avatar fighters by combining selectable special moves and cosmetic options, then use those avatars in the new modes to earn rewards and gain experience. The announcement reads:

Mix and match special moves to create a one-of-a-kind avatar with a fighting style of your very own and take them into these two chaotic modes to earn rewards and level up.

Avatar Random Match pairs customized avatars in online matchups intended for quick, chaotic play. Avatar Arcade Mode offers a structured single-player experience with repeatable fights against named masters. The company said players can fight masters multiple times in Arcade Mode to strengthen bonds and unlock alternate outfits for each master.

Progress in both modes grants avatar experience and other rewards, allowing custom fighters to level up over time. Capcom released a trailer and promotional material detailing how avatars are built from special moves and cosmetic choices.

Street Fighter 6 launched with several online and offline modes and has received multiple post-launch updates and DLC characters. The May 28 update and the Ingrid DLC will be available for players on that date.

Previously, we reported that Capcom plans sequels for Mega Man, Devil May Cry and Onimusha.
