Tomodachi Life tops April U.S. charts, Switch 2 is top console

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was the top-selling video game in the United States for April 2026, and the Nintendo Switch 2 was the best-selling console for the month, according to sales data covering April 5 through May 2. The rankings measure dollar sales for full-game physical and digital purchases in the U.S. market.

The rankings are based on combined physical and full-game digital dollar sales and exclude mobile games and digital add-on content. The reporting period runs from April 5 to May 2 and reflects transactions at U.S. retail and full-game digital storefronts.

The software top 10 placed Capcom USA’s Pragmata at No. 2 and Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert at No. 3. MLB: The Show 26 ranked fourth, Kraken Express’s Windrose fifth and Nintendo’s Pokemon: Pokopia sixth. A two-game bundle of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 was seventh, Microsoft’s Starfield eighth, Sony’s Saros ninth and Mario Kart World tenth.

On the hardware chart, the Nintendo Switch 2 led unit sales for April, outselling other consoles in the United States during the reporting period.

The report focuses on dollar sales of full games and does not include in-game purchases or downloadable content, which are tracked separately. The figures cover only the U.S. market and combine physical copy sales with full-game digital purchases.
